Gabber ist eine Variante des Hardcore Techno mit circa 150 bis 190 Beats per minute. Charakteristisch für Gabber sind verzerrte, lang ausklingende Bassdrums, oft von dem Drumcomputer TR-909. Begleitend kommen grobe, harte und synthetische Klänge und Samples hinzu. In der Regel klingt Gabber "chaotischer" als Hardcore Techno. Die Bezeichnung Gabber wird auch für Anhänger der dazugehörigen Szene verwendet.
