Psytrance (kurz für: Psychedelic Trance, auch: Goa-Trance bzw. Goa oder Hippie-Trance) ist eine Richtung der elektronischen Musik und stellt ein Subgenre der Trance-Musik dar. Namensgebend waren Outdoor-Trance-Partys in den späten 1980er Jahren im indischen Bundesstaat Goa; der Musikstil wurde jedoch besonders in Europa weiterentwickelt. Nachdem Goa-Trance zwischen 1994 und 1998 seine Hochphase hatte, entwickelte sich der Musikstil danach unter der Bezeichnung Psytrance weiter. Obwohl Goa in der Musikindustrie weitgehend von Psytrance und Progressive-Trance verdrängt wurde, bestehen weiterhin freie Goa-Netlabels, die sich dem ursprünglichen Goa-Trance verschrieben haben.
