Drum ?n? Bass ('Drum and Bass, kurz: D?n?B) ist eine Richtung der elektronischen Tanzmusik, die in England Anfang der 1990er-Jahre entstanden ist und auf beschleunigten Funk-Breakbeats mit einer Geschwindigkeit von etwa 160 bis 190 BPM basiert. Drum ?n? Bass kann als eine Weiterentwicklung der Jungle-Musik mit einfacheren, minimalistischeren Beats betrachtet werden.
Nachdem sich die englische Breakbeat-Szene zwischen 1989 und 1994 immer wieder anderer Musik-Genres wie Hip-Hop, Ragga, Techno und House bedient hat, um die eigenen Beats mit deren Samples zu bereichern, entwickelte sich 1993 die Einstellung, sich mehr auf das Wesentliche zu konzentrieren.
